Valkarie Gallery Residency Overview
 

Valkarie Gallery is a diverse, collaborative community of artists who are committed to creative growth. For over 11 years, our Resident Artists have thrived in our beautiful Belmar location, managing all aspects of exhibitions—from curation and installation to marketing and promotion. Many also volunteer to support operations, vote on key decisions, and regularly exhibit their work in our unique space.
 

Resident Artists

• Participate in one Solo Show per year, sharing the Main Gallery with another Resident.

• Exhibit in 4–6 annual group shows in the South Gallery, where art can be purchased and taken home immediately—ensuring continuous sales opportunities.

• May use a designated space for selling prints and reproductions.
   

Associate Residents

• Share one Solo Show per year in the South Gallery with 4–5 other Associate artists.

• Also participate in 4–6 annual group shows with immediate sales opportunities.

• May use the designated merchandise space for prints and reproductions.
   

Additional Opportunities & Expectations

• Residents are juried into Valkarie-hosted CaFÉ calls to further push their creative practice.

• Participate in the annual Frost & Found Art Extravaganza (begins Dec 2025).

• Commit to at least one year to fully experience membership.

• Required: active social media presence (website, Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
   

Community Participation
All members are expected to contribute by:

• Gallery sitting (especially during events like Frost & Found).

• Assisting with South Gallery exhibit installations.

• Helping with gallery clean-ups and organization.

• Promoting gallery events via personal social media.

• Optionally joining the gallery’s social media team.
