Melinda Laz specializes in printmaking, works on paper and hand built ceramics. She draws inspiration from a multitude of sources. Vintage family photographs, wallpaper design, aerial photographs, shadows and plant forms have all influenced her work. She is interested in the concepts of home, roots and foundations; passages and time; memory and recollection; growth and transformation; pattern and texture; nature and the manmade world.
Melinda holds a BFA in printmaking from Washington University in St. Louis, MO; a MA in Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; and a MA in Education from the University of Denver. Melinda has mounted several critically acclaimed solo exhibitions, appeared in numerous national juried shows, and participated in a number of invitational shows including at Valkarie Gallery (Lakewood); Regis University Gallery (Denver); Showings Fine Art (Denver); Dairy Center Gallery (Boulder, CO), Truman State University (Kirksville, MO), and Susan Hensel Gallery (Minneapolis, MN).
