Statement: Robert has followed a creative path intuitively since childhood. His dad was a prolific photographer (using a 3D Stereo Realist) and Robert credits his obsession with those Kodachrome slides as his creative bedrock; building from there into a career teaching Film & Video Production to high school students in the DPS Career Education Center. Now retired the camera is back in Robert's hand.
As a still photographer Robert is most often seen traveling east from his hometown Denver onto the Colorado plains. He finds the farm and ranch land a seemingly empty canvas, where the minimalist 'scapes require a closer look with emphasis on form, motion, color and light. Remnants in abandoned places pique his curiosity, as do man's impact on nature and nature's return.
